It is believed that an estimated that around 64-million people suffer from insomnia, a sleep disorder caused by a variety of influences. Insomnia can either be transient, short time or chronic, long time. Just as there are many causes of this sleep disorder the treatment may vary depending on the affected person.

For those who suffer only the occasional bout of insomnia, treatment may be as simple as sleeping pills or those who want to remain drug free there are botanical methods to help them get the sleep they need.

Insomnia can be caused by physical pain, emotional stress, anxiety or the person’s inability to allow their mind to become clear and focused on sleep. Each cause will be a different insomnia treatment to effect a good night’s sleep.

The types of insomnia can be considered in three ways: sleep onset, with which the mortal cannot start asleep, middle sleep insomnia, in which the mortal wakes up in the middle of the night and cannot go back to sleep and terminal insomnia, where the mortal wakes up much early than planned and cannot return to sleep.
